The roots of the firm date back to 1998 when Dr. Michael Best co-founded the firm Freitag & Best. Before, he had worked as an in-house counsel and deputy head of the trademark department of Hoechst AG, a global chemical and pharmaceutical company, and had handled a global portfolio of trademarks, designs and other non-technical intellectual property rights as well as licensing, advertising and unfair competition matters of the Hoechst group for many years.
The firm is located in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, in one of the most central and vital commercial regions and an economic and traffic hub of Germany and Europe.
Since its inception, the firm has focused on trademark, design, domain, unfair competition and copyright matters and related rights and strategic advice and project management in these fields.
